Anti-MRPL17 Antibody

This polyclonal antibody targets MRPL17, a nuclear-encoded component of the large 39S subunit of the mammalian mitochondrial ribosome. The MRPL17 protein localizes to the mitochondrial matrix, where it contributes to translation of the 13 oxidative phosphorylation proteins encoded by mitochondrial DNA, supporting respiratory chain assembly and function. Antibodies.com raises this reagent in rabbit, and the resulting IgG fraction is supplied unconjugated at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline (PBS) with 15 mM sodium azide as a preservative at approximately pH 7.2. The antibody is validated for Western blot detection of the endogenous protein in both human and mouse samples, and serves studies of mitochondrial translation, OXPHOS biogenesis, and the role of mitochondrial ribosome assembly in metabolic disease and tumor biology.
