MRP2 (Multidrug Resistance-associated Protein 2, encoded by ABCC2) is an ATP-binding cassette efflux transporter concentrated at the apical membrane of hepatocytes and renal tubular epithelium, where it exports conjugated bilirubin, glutathione conjugates, and multiple classes of organic anions into bile and urine. Antibodies.com offers a rabbit host polyclonal reagent raised against this transporter, supplied as 100 µl of unconjugated antiserum validated for Western blot and ELISA workflows on human samples.
This Primary Antibody reagent supports studies of hepatic drug clearance, cholestasis models, and multidrug resistance mechanisms in oncology, where altered ABCC2 expression modulates cellular accumulation of chemotherapeutic substrates. Loss-of-function ABCC2 mutations underlie Dubin-Johnson syndrome, making reliable detection of the endogenous protein valuable for basic membrane transport research and translational projects. Recommended protocols include SDS-PAGE separation of cell or tissue lysates followed by immunoblotting with HRP-conjugated secondary detection.
