Recognizing human Multidrug Resistance-associated Protein 2 (MRP2), also designated ABCC2, this unconjugated rabbit polyclonal antibody is supplied by Antibodies.com at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline containing 0.05% sodium azide at approximately pH 7.2. MRP2 is an ATP-binding cassette transporter that mediates the export of organic anions, bilirubin conjugates, and a variety of xenobiotics across canalicular hepatocyte membranes, making it a frequent target in studies of hepatobiliary transport, drug efflux pharmacology, and cholestasis models. Provided as a 100 µl aliquot, the reagent is validated for Western blot applications and shows confirmed reactivity in human, mouse, and rat samples. The polyclonal format broadens epitope coverage, an advantage when probing tissue lysates in which post-translational modification of the transporter may be variable. For best results, aliquot upon first use, store refrigerated, and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Note that sodium azide in the buffer can interfere with applications sensitive to azide, so plan downstream steps accordingly. For research use only.
