MPG (N-methylpurine DNA glycosylase) is the base excision repair glycosylase that excises damaged alkylated and deaminated purine bases from DNA, and this polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com detects the human protein across multiple experimental platforms. Validated applications include western blot, immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, and immunoprecipitation, giving researchers a single antibody for tracking MPG in cell lysates, fixed tissue sections, and native immunocomplexes.
The unconjugated rabbit host IgG is supplied as 100 µl of polyclonal antiserum, allowing flexible pairing with HRP, fluorescent, or biotinylated secondary reagents depending on the chosen detection chemistry. Human reactivity supports studies on alkylation-induced DNA damage, temozolomide and other alkylator response, BER pathway crosstalk, and reports linking MPG activity to glioblastoma and neurodegeneration.
For best results, store the vial at -20°C in single-use aliquots to limit repeated freeze-thaw cycles and preserve epitope recognition across the polyclonal antibody pool.
