Methylpurine-DNA glycosylase (MPG) is a base excision repair enzyme that removes alkylated and deaminated purine bases from damaged DNA, including 3-methyladenine and 7-methylguanine lesions. This rabbit polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com was raised against MPG and supports Western blot detection of the endogenous protein in human, mouse, and rat samples.

The reagent is supplied at 1 mg/ml in PBS containing 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol as a cryoprotective buffer, shipped as 100 µl aliquots in a liquid format that dilutes directly into immunoblotting workflows.

Researchers studying alkylation damage, genotoxic stress responses, and base excision repair pathways use anti-MPG antibodies to probe expression changes following exposure to methylating agents, to assess MPG regulation across tissue types, and to compare baseline activity in matched normal and tumor-derived cell lines.

The unconjugated format gives full flexibility to pair the primary with HRP- or fluorophore-conjugated secondary reagents of the user's choice, and the polyclonal host background detects multiple epitopes for more robust signal in whole-cell and tissue lysate Western blots.
