Raised in rabbit as a polyclonal IgG preparation and supplied by Antibodies.com, this unconjugated primary antibody targets MOCS2 (Molybdenum Cofactor Biosynthesis Protein 2), the small and large subunits of which are produced by alternative splicing from the MOCS2 gene and function in the final steps of molybdopterin biosynthesis, the organic precursor of the molybdenum cofactor required by sulfite oxidase, xanthine dehydrogenase, and aldehyde oxidase.

The reagent is validated for Western blot detection of mouse MOCS2 and is provided as 50 µL of liquid antiserum fraction, unconjugated and free of reporter tags so it can be paired with secondary antibodies of the researcher's choice for chemiluminescent or chromogenic detection. Host species is rabbit, clonality is polyclonal, and isotype is IgG, allowing recognition of multiple epitopes across the target protein and helping reduce signal loss from minor sequence variation.

Because MOCS2 sits at a branch point in molybdenum cofactor assembly, the antibody is used in studies of MOCS2-dependent and MOCS3-dependent activation pathways, in characterizing patient-derived or engineered cell lines with molybdenum cofactor deficiency, and in routine expression profiling of MOCS2 in mouse tissues and cultured cells. For best signal-to-noise on Western blot, samples are typically lysed under reducing conditions and probed with the unconjugated primary followed by an HRP- or fluorophore-conjugated anti-rabbit IgG secondary.
