Anti-MOBP Antibody

A rabbit polyclonal IgG reagent from Antibodies.com that recognizes myelin-associated oligodendrocyte basic protein (MOBP), a structural component of CNS compact myelin. The target gene maps to chromosome 3p22.1 and the protein runs at an apparent molecular weight near 21 kDa, supporting oligodendrocyte lineage tracking and myelin integrity studies in human and rodent tissue.

Affinity purified and supplied as 100 µl of unconjugated IgG in PBS (pH 7.3) with 50% glycerol and 0.01% thiomersal, the antibody is validated for western blot at 1:500–1:1,000, immunohistochemistry on fixed sections at 1:50–1:200, and flow cytometry on human and mouse samples. The immunogen corresponds to an N-terminal region of human MOBP, and the reagent cross-reacts with the mouse ortholog, which is convenient for parallel work in lysolecithin- or cuprizone-induced demyelination models and for tracking MOBP expression in multiple-sclerosis-relevant white matter lesions.

Brief centrifugation of the vial before opening is recommended. For short-term handling, keep refrigerated; aliquot and freeze at -20°C for long-term storage, and limit freeze-thaw cycles to preserve binding activity. The product is intended for research use only.
