Anti-Mnk1 (I136) Antibody

A rabbit polyclonal antibody raised against Mnk1 (MAP kinase interacting serine/threonine kinase 1), supplied at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline with 0.05% sodium azide at approximately pH 7.2. The immunogen corresponds to a region surrounding residue I136 of the human Mnk1 sequence, allowing selective recognition of the full-length kinase in cell lysates and tissue sections.

Mnk1 sits downstream of the ERK1/2 and p38 MAPK cascades and phosphorylates eukaryotic translation initiation factor 4E (eIF4E) at Ser209, linking stress- and mitogen-activated signaling to cap-dependent mRNA translation. Researchers use this reagent to probe Mnk1 expression and activation status in cancer biology studies of prostate, breast, and hematopoietic malignancies, as well as in models of inflammation and cellular stress.
