MMP9 (matrix metalloproteinase 9), also known as 92 kDa gelatinase B or type IV collagenase, is a zinc-dependent endopeptidase that cleaves denatured collagens, gelatins, and components of the basement membrane. This Rabbit polyclonal IgG reagent from Antibodies.com is supplied as a 200 µl unconjugated vial, validated for Western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence workflows on Human, Mouse, and Rat samples. Because the polyclonal format recognizes multiple epitopes on the MMP9 zymogen (pro-MMP9, ~92 kDa) and its activated cleavage products, the antibody is widely used to investigate extracellular matrix remodeling, tumor cell invasion and metastasis, neutrophil-driven inflammation, cytokine signaling, angiogenesis, and wound repair. Researchers pair the unconjugated primary with a chosen HRP- or fluorophore-linked secondary for chemiluminescent, chromogenic, or fluorescence readouts. For best results, briefly centrifuge the vial before opening, aliquot to limit repeated freeze-thaw cycles, and store at -20 °C in working aliquots. Each vial is intended for research use only, not for diagnostic or therapeutic applications.
