This rabbit polyclonal MMP9 reagent from Antibodies.com is affinity purified and supplied as an unconjugated IgG in a 100 µl volume of phosphate buffered saline (pH 7.3) containing 50% glycerol and 0.05% ProClin 300. It was raised against a synthetic peptide corresponding to amino acids 538-707 of the human MMP9 sequence and is validated for western blot at 1:500 to 1:1,000 dilution, with the catalogue listing also supporting immunohistochemistry and immunofluorescence workflows on human, mouse, and rat samples.

On western blot the antibody recognises MMP9 at the expected 100 kDa and 84 kDa bands, with a predicted molecular weight of 78 kDa. Validation was performed on mouse spleen lysate loaded at 25 µg total protein per lane, with a 1 hour primary incubation and chemiluminescence detection. The unconjugated format lets laboratories pair the primary with HRP-, biotin-, or fluorophore-conjugated secondaries of their choice, and the liquid formulation allows direct dilution into standard blocking buffers.

Investigators studying extracellular matrix turnover apply this reagent to track tumour invasion and metastatic spread in colorectal, breast, and lung carcinoma models, to monitor atherosclerotic plaque instability and post-infarct myocardial remodelling in cardiovascular research, and to localise gelatinase activity at synapses and within glial cells in neuroinflammatory models. The vial is shipped at 4°C; aliquot upon arrival and store at -20°C, avoiding repeated freeze-thaw cycles to preserve activity.
