The MMP28 target, also called epilysin, is a secreted zinc-dependent endopeptidase and the most recently identified member of the matrix metalloproteinase family. It is expressed in epithelial tissues including skin, lung, and testis, where it contributes to extracellular matrix turnover.

Supplied by Antibodies.com in a 50 µl vial, this unconjugated rabbit polyclonal IgG reagent is raised against MMP28 and validated for Western blot detection of endogenous protein in human, mouse, and rat samples. Researchers apply it to investigate MMP28-mediated extracellular matrix remodeling in wound healing, epithelial homeostasis, and tumor microenvironment biology, including documented roles in non-small cell lung cancer and hepatocellular carcinoma models.

The polyclonal format increases the likelihood of recognizing multiple epitopes on the MMP28 protein, which is useful when probing cleavage products or post-translationally modified forms. The unconjugated format allows end users to pair the antibody with their preferred secondary reagent and detection system, supporting chemiluminescent or fluorescent immunoblotting readouts. Compatible with standard SDS-PAGE workflows, this is a research use only reagent intended for in vitro and in vivo model systems exploring ECM turnover.
