Produced in rabbit as an unconjugated polyclonal reagent, this anti-MMP11 antibody from Antibodies.com is supplied as 100 µl of antisera and validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry workflows on human, mouse, and rat samples.

Matrix metalloproteinase 11, also known as stromelysin-3, is a secreted zinc-dependent endopeptidase whose biology differs from many of its MMP family members: it preferentially activates other proteases rather than directly cleaving classical extracellular matrix substrates. Because of this regulatory role, MMP11 is a frequent subject of research on cancer cell invasion, metastatic niche formation, stromal-epithelial crosstalk, and tissue remodeling during development and wound repair. The polyclonal format supports recognition of multiple epitopes across the MMP11 sequence, enabling consistent detection in denatured whole-cell lysates as well as in formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissue sections following standard antigen retrieval.

For Western blot workflows, the antibody is paired with HRP- or fluorophore-conjugated secondary reagents; for IHC, it can be applied to formalin-fixed tissue after antigen retrieval. Recommended short-term handling is refrigerated storage, and aliquoting is advised to limit freeze-thaw cycles when the reagent is used intermittently. The product is supplied in a vial format and is intended for research use only.
