Anti-MMP-9 Antibody

This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets human matrix metalloproteinase 9 (MMP-9), a zinc-dependent endopeptidase that degrades type IV and V collagens, gelatins, and other extracellular matrix components. Raised in rabbit and supplied as an unconjugated reagent in 100 µl, the antibody is validated for Western blot (WB) and immunohistochemistry (IHC) workflows on human samples.

MMP-9, also called gelatinase B or 92 kDa type IV collagenase, is synthesized as a 92 kDa proenzyme and processed to lower-molecular-weight activated forms. It is expressed by neutrophils, macrophages, and a range of tumor cell lines, and is implicated in inflammation, tissue remodeling, wound healing, angiogenesis, and tumor invasion. Researchers use MMP-9 detection to study extracellular matrix turnover, neutrophil activation in inflammatory disease, and protease involvement in cancer progression and metastasis.
