MMP-11 (Matrix Metalloproteinase 11), also called Stromelysin-3, is a zinc-dependent endopeptidase involved in extracellular matrix remodeling. Unlike most secreted MMPs, MMP-11 is activated intracellularly by furin and has been linked to tissue remodeling during embryonic development, wound healing, and tumor progression.

This polyclonal antibody is raised in rabbit and supplied as an unconjugated reagent in a 100 µl volume. The Antibodies.com anti-MMP-11 antibody recognizes its target in human, mouse, and rat samples, supporting cross-species studies of matrix biology and cancer research. It is validated for western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence applications, enabling detection of endogenous MMP-11 expression in cell lines and tissue sections.

MMP-11 expression has been investigated in breast, colon, and head and neck carcinomas, where elevated levels correlate with invasive tumor behavior and poor prognosis. Researchers apply this reagent to study basement membrane degradation, adipogenesis, and inflammatory remodeling. The recommended storage temperature is -20 °C in working aliquots to preserve activity across freeze-thaw cycles, and the reagent should be protected from light when handled.
