Anti-MIWI Antibody

Manufactured by Antibodies.com, this affinity-purified rabbit polyclonal reagent targets the PIWIL1/MIWI protein (also known as HIWI, PIWI, Piwi-like protein 1, Piwi homolog and PIWL1_HUMAN) and detects endogenous levels of total MIWI. The immunogen is a recombinant human MIWI protein, and the antibody is supplied at 1 mg/ml in phosphate-buffered saline (pH 7.4, 150 mM NaCl) without Mg²⁺ or Ca²⁺, containing 0.02% sodium azide and 50% glycerol as a cryoprotectant. The host species is rabbit, the clonality is polyclonal, the isotype is IgG, and the conjugate is unconjugated, allowing flexibility for downstream labelling workflows. The 50 µl size is appropriate for multiple blots and staining experiments, and the reagent is validated in Western blotting (WB), immunohistochemistry (IHC), immunofluorescence (IF) and immunoprecipitation (IP), covering the most common readouts for studying PIWI-family proteins. Reactivity is confirmed for mouse and rat samples, which are the primary model organisms used in germline and piRNA pathway research, while cross-reactivity with human MIWI is supported by the immunogen design. For best stability, the antibody should be stored at –20 °C; under these conditions it is suitable for repeated freeze-thaw cycles over the shelf life of the product. As a research-use-only reagent, it is intended for laboratory investigation of MIWI/PIWIL1 function in spermatogenesis, transposon silencing and small non-coding RNA biology, and should not be used for diagnostic or therapeutic purposes.
