MICROPHTHALMIA-ASSOCIATED TRANSCRIPTION FACTOR (MITF) is a basic helix-loop-helix leucine zipper transcription factor that governs melanocyte lineage specification, melanin biosynthesis, and osteoclast differentiation. Loss-of-function mutations in the MITF gene are linked to Waardenburg syndrome type 2 and Tietz syndrome, while dysregulated MITF activity is a hallmark feature of cutaneous melanoma and clear cell sarcoma.

This rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com detects MITF in human and mouse samples and is supplied at 50 µl per vial. The unconjugated format gives researchers full flexibility to pair the antibody with HRP, biotin, or fluorophore-labeled secondary reagents of their choosing. It has been validated across western blot, immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, and ELISA workflows, supporting melanocyte differentiation studies, melanogenesis signaling work, and tumor pathology research.

Because it is polyclonal, the antibody recognizes multiple epitopes across MITF, which can improve signal strength on western blot and IHC where a single monoclonal epitope may be lost during fixation or processing. Each lot is affinity-purified to reduce off-target binding.
