Primary antibodies targeting the Microphthalmia-associated Transcription Factor (MITF) are central reagents in melanocyte biology, melanoma signalling, and pigmentation research, where this basic helix-loop-helix leucine zipper transcription factor governs lineage specification, pigment gene expression, and osteoclast differentiation.

The Antibodies.com Anti-MITF polyclonal antibody is raised in rabbit and supplied as an unconjugated 100 µl vial, allowing researchers to couple it directly to their preferred fluorophore, biotin, or enzymatic reporter. It is validated for Western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence on human and mouse samples, supporting studies of melanocyte development, Waardenburg syndrome type 2A models, and cutaneous melanoma cell signalling.

Because the reagent is polyclonal, it recognises multiple epitopes on the MITF protein, which is helpful when monitoring changes in expression, isoform distribution, or post-translational modification across experimental conditions. For best stability, store the vial at -20 °C in small working aliquots, protect from light, and limit freeze-thaw cycles; thaw on ice and centrifuge briefly before each use.
