Produced as a Mouse IgG2a monoclonal in unconjugated format, this Antibodies.com reagent is the clone 199 antibody raised against human Macrophage Inflammatory Protein 1 alpha (MIP-1α), the pro-inflammatory C-C chemokine also designated CCL3. The antibody is supplied as a 100 µg lyophilised powder and is validated for ELISA detection of human MIP-1α in cell culture supernatants. Clone 199 binds the CCL3 ligand without meaningful cross-reactivity with the closely related chemokine MIP-1β (CCL4), supporting its use in studies that need to distinguish CCL3 from CCL4 signalling. Researchers studying monocyte and neutrophil chemotaxis, inflammatory cytokine cascades, and HIV co-receptor biology select this reagent because MIP-1α acts as a natural ligand for the chemokine receptors CCR1 and CCR5. The lyophilised format in each vial allows extended storage of the dried pellet, while reconstituted aliquots should be held frozen to limit freeze-thaw cycles. As an unconjugated primary antibody, it pairs readily with biotinylated or HRP-conjugated secondary reagents for ELISA workflows and is intended for research use only.
