MIP-1β (also called CCL4 or Macrophage Inflammatory Protein-1 beta) is a β-chemokine secreted chiefly by macrophages, dendritic cells, and activated T lymphocytes, where it signals through CCR5 to recruit immune cells during inflammatory responses. This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal antibody was raised against the human MIP-1β sequence and is supplied by Antibodies.com as 100 µl of antiserum in a vial. The polyclonal clonality means the reagent contains a population of rabbit IgG molecules recognising multiple epitopes across the CCL4 protein, which can improve signal when probing low-abundance chemokine samples by Western blot. The antibody is validated for use in Western blot (WB) and ELISA workflows on human samples. As a liquid antibody stock, aliquot on receipt and store at -20 °C, avoiding repeated freeze-thaw cycles by preparing single-use working aliquots. Because it is unconjugated, the primary pairs flexibly with HRP-, biotin-, or fluorophore-conjugated secondary antibodies for chemiluminescent Western blot, plate-based ELISA, or immunocytochemistry. For research use only.
