Anti-MIEN1 Antibody

From Antibodies.com's Primary Antibodies range, this rabbit polyclonal antibody targets MIEN1 — a 115 amino acid cytoplasmic protein also known as C35, XTP4 (HBV X-transactivated gene 4), and protein C17orf37, and a member of the SelWTH protein family. The unconjugated reagent is validated for Western Blot (WB) and reacts with Human, Mouse, and Rat samples. It was raised against a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues in Human MIEN1 and detects endogenous levels of MIEN1 protein.

Supplied at 1 mg/ml in Phosphate buffered saline (PBS) with 15 mM sodium azide, approx. pH 7.2, the antibody has been affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity-chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen, with purity greater than 95% (by SDS-PAGE). The target protein migrates at approximately 12 kDa.

MIEN1 contains a thioredoxin-like fold and a conserved CxxC or CxxU motif, consistent with a possible functional role in redox reactions. While present at trace levels in normal breast ductal epithelium and testis, the protein is robustly expressed in infiltrating ductal carcinomas of the breast, lobular carcinoma, and in distant breast-cancer metastases such as those in liver, lung, and skin.
