MGEA5, also known as O-GlcNAcase or OGA, is a nuclear and cytoplasmic glycoside hydrolase that catalyzes the removal of O-linked N-acetylglucosamine from serine and threonine residues of target proteins. This polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com was raised in rabbit and is supplied as 100 µl of unconjugated antibody, supporting western blot and immunohistochemistry workflows on human, mouse, and rat samples.
Researchers studying O-GlcNAc cycling, hexosamine biosynthetic pathway flux, and the interplay between glycosylation and cellular processes such as transcription, stress response, and neurodegeneration use this antibody to map MGEA5 expression across tissues and model systems. The unconjugated format allows end users to conjugate the antibody to their preferred reporter label or to apply it in standard immunodetection protocols without prior modification. A single-use aliquot per experiment helps preserve reagent integrity when working with limiting sample material.
