Anti-Mfn2 Antibody

Manufactured and distributed by Antibodies.com as a research-grade primary antibody, this polyclonal reagent is raised in rabbit against Mitofusin-2 (Mfn2) and is supplied in a 50 µl liquid format at a working concentration of 1 mg/mL. The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity-chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen derived from the internal region of human Mfn2, and it is formulated in PBS containing 50% glycerol, 0.5% BSA, and 0.02% sodium azide. It is unconjugated, allowing researchers to choose their own detection labels, and is validated for ELISA, Western blot (WB), immunocytochemistry/immunofluorescence (ICC/IF), and immunohistochemistry (IHC). Demonstrated reactivity spans human, mouse, and rat samples, so the reagent is well-suited to cross-species studies of mitochondrial dynamics, and it recognizes endogenous levels of Mfn2 protein. The antibody is also known by several synonyms recorded on the supplier datasheet, including CPRP1, KIAA0214, Mitofusin-2, and Transmembrane GTPase MFN2. For short-term handling it can be kept at 4 °C, but for longer storage the supplier recommends aliquoting upon delivery and freezing at –20 °C, taking care to avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles. Because it is intended for research use only and not for diagnostic or therapeutic applications, laboratories can rely on it for western blotting of Mfn2 in cell lysates, immunostaining of mitochondrial networks in fixed cells, and ELISA-based quantification of protein expression in tissues from the supported species.
