This rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com detects the NF2 tumor suppressor protein Merlin, a key organizer of membrane-cytoskeleton contacts and a central regulator of the Hippo growth-control pathway. The antibody was raised against a synthetic peptide corresponding to a region surrounding residue 518 of human Merlin and recognizes the endogenous protein in Western blot and immunohistochemistry workflows. Cross-reactivity has been validated in Human, Mouse, and Rat samples, supporting use in comparative oncology, neuroscience, and hearing-research models where NF2 loss drives schwannoma, meningioma, and ependymoma formation.

Supplied as 100 µl of unconjugated antisera in a single-use vial, the reagent is intended for immunoblotting of cell and tissue lysates, formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded sections, and cultured mammalian cells. As a polyclonal antibody, it binds multiple epitopes on Merlin, which is helpful when probing truncated mutant isoforms produced by patient-derived NF2 schwannomas. Researchers investigating contact-dependent growth arrest, Hippo pathway kinase signaling through LATS1/2 and MST1/2, and ERM-family cross-talk will find this reagent complementary to phospho-specific Merlin tools and to downstream readouts such as YAP/TAZ localization. Optimal working dilutions should be determined empirically for each sample preparation method, with proper storage at -20 °C in small aliquots to minimize freeze-thaw cycles and preserve antibody performance.
