Raised in rabbit against the MEP1B (meprin A subunit beta) zinc metalloprotease, this polyclonal IgG reagent from Antibodies.com detects the membrane-bound beta subunit of meprin A in murine samples. Recognized in mouse kidney brush-border membranes, intestinal epithelium, and leukocyte populations, MEP1B (UniProt Q16820) contributes to extracellular matrix turnover by cleaving basement membrane substrates such as nidogen, laminin, and collagen IV, and activates pro-inflammatory cytokines including pro-IL-1β and IL-18.

Validated for Western blot on mouse tissues, the 50 µl aliquot supports expression studies in models of ischemia/reperfusion-induced acute kidney injury, diabetic nephropathy, intestinal inflammation, and dermal or organ fibrosis where meprin β redistribution from the apical brush border to the basolateral tubular basement membrane has been documented. Researchers studying meprin β knockout mice or pharmacological inhibition with actinonin can use this reagent to track protein-level changes following genetic or therapeutic intervention.

Supplied as an unconjugated IgG preparation in a 50 µl volume, the antibody is compatible with standard HRP-conjugated or fluorophore-conjugated secondary reagents for Western blot detection. Reactivity: Mouse. Clonality: Polyclonal. Isotype: IgG. Host: Rabbit. Recommended application: WB. Intended for research use only.
