Anti-MEK1 (phospho-T286) Antibody

From Antibodies.com, this is a rabbit polyclonal antibody raised against MEK1 when phosphorylated at Threonine 286. The immunogen is a synthetic phosphopeptide derived from human MEK1 around the phosphorylation site of Threonine 286, and the reagent specifically detects endogenous levels of MEK1 protein only when phosphorylated at Thr286.

The antibody is unconjugated and supplied at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol. It has been validated for Western blot (WB) and immunohistochemistry (IHC) applications and reacts with Human, Mouse and Rat samples. The host species is Rabbit and the clonality is Polyclonal. The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using the epitope-specific immunogen, and the purity is greater than 95% by SDS-PAGE. MEK1 (Mitogen-activated protein kinase kinase 1) catalyses the concomitant phosphorylation of a threonine and a tyrosine residue in a Thr-Glu-Tyr sequence in MAP kinases and thereby activates ERK1 and ERK2 MAP kinases. MEK1 and MEK2 are also activated by dual phosphorylation on serine 218 and 222 in the activation loop, and threonine 292 of MEK1 is phosphorylated by ERK2, providing a negative feedback loop that suppresses MEK1 activation.
