Anti-MEK1/2 Antibody

A recombinant rabbit monoclonal reagent from Antibodies.com raised against MEK1 and cross-reactive with MEK2 (MAP2K1 and MAP2K2), the dual-specificity MAP kinase kinases that phosphorylate ERK1/2 within the canonical RAS-RAF-MEK-ERK signalling cascade. The unconjugated antibody is supplied in a 100 µl vial as a liquid formulation in 1×TBS at pH 7.4, with 1% BSA and 40% glycerol as stabilisers and 0.05% sodium azide as preservative.

Validated applications include Western blot, immunocytochemistry with immunofluorescence (ICC/IF), and immunohistochemistry (IHC), so the same reagent can be used to detect endogenous MEK1/2 in cell lysates, fixed cells and tissue sections. Reactivity has been confirmed against Human, Mouse, Rat and Zebrafish samples, supporting comparative pathway studies that bridge mammalian cell-line work with zebrafish developmental models. As an unconjugated antibody, it pairs with any HRP-, fluorophore- or biotin-labelled secondary of the user's choice, and it can be applied to immunoprecipitation of native MEK1/2 complexes.

MEK1 and MEK2 migrate as 44–45 kDa proteins on SDS-PAGE and are widely used as readouts of pathway activation in melanoma and other cancers driven by BRAF or RAS mutations, in dose-response profiling of small-molecule MEK inhibitors, and in basic dissection of growth-factor and stress signalling. The antibody is for research use only. Store refrigerated in the original formulation, aliquot upon first use to limit freeze-thaw cycles of the glycerol stock, and protect from prolonged light exposure.
