This rabbit polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com is raised against MEK Kinase-1, also called MAP3K1, a serine/threonine kinase that sits at the top of the MAPK signaling cascade and routes signals from membrane receptors through the JNK, ERK, and p38 pathways. The immunogen spans a region around the W197 residue, a stretch conserved across mammals, which gives the reagent recognition of Human, Mouse, and Rat MAP3K1 in Western blot workflows.

Supplied as 100 µl of IgG at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline (PBS) with 0.05% sodium azide at approximately pH 7.2, the antibody is unconjugated and ready to use as a primary detection reagent on Western blot membranes. The Rabbit host allows any standard anti-rabbit IgG HRP or IRDye secondary to be used for signal generation, whether the readout is chemiluminescent or fluorescent.

MAP3K1 has documented roles in embryonic axis formation, stress-induced apoptosis, and cytokine receptor signaling, so this reagent appears most often in studies of JNK activation, tumor cell migration, and knockout phenotype analysis. Keep the vial refrigerated for short-term use and freeze aliquots at -20 °C for longer-term storage; avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles, and note that the 0.05% sodium azide preservative makes the antibody unsuitable for live-cell staining or in vivo administration.
