The Antibodies.com polyclonal antibody recognizes MEF2C (Myocyte Enhancer Factor 2C), a MADS-box transcription factor that governs muscle, cardiac, and neuronal gene-expression programs. Raised in rabbit and supplied as 100 µl of unconjugated reagent, the antibody is validated for western blot and immunohistochemistry on human, mouse, and rat samples.

MEF2C orchestrates skeletal-muscle and cardiomyocyte differentiation, directs cortical-neuron migration and synaptic plasticity, and shapes T- and B-lymphocyte development. Researchers apply anti-MEF2C reagents to study transcriptional control in cardiac-hypertrophy models, cortical-layering neurodevelopment, and MEF2-driven chromatin remodeling within hematopoietic lineages. The polyclonal format increases the likelihood of detecting multiple epitopes across isoforms, which is useful when probing post-translational modifications or splice variants relevant to those contexts.

Because the reagent is unconjugated, it can be paired with HRP, biotin, or fluorophore secondaries to match a chosen detection chemistry. Short-term storage at 4 °C with appropriate aliquoting preserves activity for repeated WB and IHC experiments, and limiting freeze-thaw cycles helps maintain titer across longitudinal studies.
