This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal antibody recognizes MEF2C, a member of the myocyte enhancer factor-2 family of MADS-box transcription factors. MEF2C drives programs of cardiac morphogenesis, neuronal differentiation, and megakaryocyte maturation, so the reagent is widely used to chart transcription factor expression during heart and brain development and in studies of MEF2C haploinsufficiency syndrome.

From Antibodies.com, the antibody is supplied at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol as a 100 µl aliquot, and has been validated for western blot and immunohistochemistry on human, mouse, and rat specimens. Researchers typically probe whole-cell or tissue lysates to confirm the expected band size and to localize MEF2C in neuronal, cardiac, and hematopoietic tissue sections. The recommended practice is to aliquot the contents on first use, store frozen, and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles to preserve long-term activity.
