Mediator Complex Subunit 1 (MED1), also known as TRAP220 or PPARBP, is a ~220 kDa scaffold component of the Mediator complex that bridges DNA-bound transcriptional activators with RNA polymerase II. It functions as a coactivator for nuclear hormone receptors, including estrogen receptor, thyroid hormone receptor, vitamin D receptor, and PPARγ, and contributes to embryonic stem cell self-renewal, adipocyte differentiation, and hormone-driven cancers such as ER-positive breast cancer.

This rabbit polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com is raised against MED1 and validated for Western blot analysis of endogenous protein levels. The unconjugated IgG reagent is supplied as 50 µl of polyclonal antiserum, compatible with HRP- or fluorescently-labelled secondary detection after SDS-PAGE and membrane transfer.

Verified reactivity covers human, mouse, and rat samples, supporting translational studies that compare Mediator subunit expression across rodent disease models and human cell lines. Working uses include probing TRAP220 in nuclear extracts from ligand-stimulated cells, monitoring MED1 levels during differentiation protocols, and confirming integrity of the Mediator complex in chromatin fractionation experiments.
