Methyl-CpG Binding Protein 2 (MECP2) is an X-linked transcriptional regulator that binds methylated CpG dinucleotides and recruits chromatin remodeling complexes to modulate gene expression. Loss-of-function mutations in MECP2 are the primary cause of Rett syndrome, and dysregulation is implicated in MECP2 duplication syndrome, autism spectrum disorders, and other neurodevelopmental conditions.
This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com targets MECP2 and is supplied as 100 µl of antiserum in a vial. The reagent is validated for Western blot (WB) and immunohistochemistry (IHC) workflows across human, mouse, and rat samples, supporting studies in epigenetic regulation, neuronal chromatin biology, and neurological disease models. Researchers apply it to detect endogenous MECP2 protein in cell lysates and tissue sections to investigate synaptic maturation, brain development, and transcriptional silencing mechanisms.
