Anti-Meckelin Antibody

Produced by Antibodies.com, this rabbit polyclonal antiserum specifically recognizes Meckelin, the transmembrane protein encoded by the TMEM67 gene and localized to the primary cilium and basal body/centrosome. Loss-of-function mutations in TMEM67 cause Meckel syndrome and overlapping ciliopathies such as Joubert syndrome type 6, and the antibody is commonly used to investigate ciliary signalling, planar cell polarity, neural tube closure, and renal cystogenesis in mouse models. The reagent is supplied as a liquid preparation at 100 µg per vial, unconjugated, and validated for Western blot detection of endogenous mouse Meckelin. For long-term use, aliquot the antibody upon receipt and store frozen at -20 °C; avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. A working dilution of 1:500 to 1:1000 is generally suitable for Western blot of whole-cell or tissue lysates, although optimal conditions should be determined empirically for each application.
