This rabbit polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com recognizes human MDH1 (malate dehydrogenase 1, cytoplasmic), an NAD(H)-dependent oxidoreductase that catalyzes the reversible interconversion of malate and oxaloacetate. MDH1 supports the malate-aspartate shuttle, gluconeogenesis, and the citric acid cycle, and altered expression of the enzyme has been investigated in certain tumor tissues and cancer cell lines, where it has been linked to metabolic reprogramming and redox balance. The reagent is supplied as an unconjugated IgG preparation in a 200 µl volume and is validated for Western blot (WB), immunohistochemistry (IHC), and flow cytometry (FC) workflows on human samples. Researchers use it to probe MDH1 protein levels in cell lysates, formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissue sections, and suspended cell populations, making it relevant for studies of cellular metabolism, mitochondrial-cytosolic NADH shuttling, and cancer biology research use only applications.
