Produced in rabbit and affinity-purified, this polyclonal IgG reagent from Antibodies.com recognizes minichromosome maintenance protein 8 (MCM8), a DNA helicase central to homologous recombination repair and replication fork restart. The unconjugated antibody is supplied as 50 µl of stock in a glycerol-based buffer and is validated for Western blot detection of endogenous MCM8 in lysates prepared from human, mouse, and rat tissues and cultured cell lines.

Western blot applications benefit from the polyclonal format, which broadens epitope coverage across the helicase region and helps reveal both full-length MCM8 and any lower-molecular-weight isoform or degradation products. Researchers studying DNA damage response, gametogenesis, and genome-stability syndromes — where MCM8 variants have been linked to primary ovarian insufficiency and to cancer predisposition — typically load 20–40 µg of total protein per lane and detect the target with HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies using chemiluminescent or fluorescent substrates.

Each vial contains ready-to-dilute antibody. For best stability, aliquot upon first use and store at -20 °C, avoiding repeated freeze-thaw cycles; short-term handling at 4 °C is appropriate for active working stocks. The unconjugated format leaves detection chemistry fully in the user's hands, supporting both classic chemiluminescent HRP workflows and fluorescent secondaries for multiplex blots.

This primary antibody is supplied for research use only and is not validated for diagnostic or therapeutic applications.
