Rabbit polyclonal antibodies targeting minichromosome maintenance complex component 7 (MCM7) are widely used in cell proliferation and replication research. This unconjugated reagent from Antibodies.com is affinity purified, supplied at 100 µl per vial, and validated for Western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence workflows in human, mouse, and rat samples.

The MCM7 protein forms part of the MCM2-7 replicative helicase that loads onto origins of replication and powers DNA unwinding during S phase. MCM7 expression rises sharply in actively dividing cells, making it a useful marker for cell cycle analysis and tumor biology research. In immunohistochemistry, MCM7 staining highlights replicating cells in normal tissues such as intestinal crypts and lymphoid germinal centers, while elevated levels have been reported in cervical, colorectal, and esophageal carcinomas.

Western blot detection shows the MCM7 band near 85 kDa, consistent with the predicted molecular weight of the full-length protein. For immunofluorescence, the antibody can be applied to fixed cells to visualize nuclear replication foci, supporting studies of origin firing and replication fork dynamics. The polyclonal format provides epitope diversity useful when probing for MCM7 variants or post-translationally modified forms, including DDK-phosphorylated species generated during origin activation.

Each lot is intended for research use only. Aliquoting upon first use and storage at -20 °C with limited freeze-thaw cycles preserves long-term activity. As an unconjugated reagent, the antibody can be paired with secondary antibodies carrying horseradish peroxidase, fluorophores, or biotin depending on the detection chemistry required for each application.
