This rabbit polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com targets MCM4 (Minichromosome Maintenance Complex Component 4), a core subunit of the MCM2-7 hexameric replicative helicase that assembles onto origins of replication during G1 phase and unwinds parental duplex DNA as replication forks progress through S phase. The reagent is supplied as 100 µL of unconjugated antiserum and is validated for Western blot detection of MCM4 in cell or tissue lysates, as well as for immunohistochemistry on formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded sections to localize MCM4-positive nuclei.

Raised in rabbit, the antibody recognizes both human and mouse MCM4, supporting cross-species studies of DNA replication licensing and cell-cycle entry. MCM4 expression is widely used as a marker of proliferative capacity in normal and neoplastic tissues and has been investigated in the context of breast, lung, and gastrointestinal cancers, where altered MCM4 levels have been linked to tumor growth and prognosis. Researchers studying origin firing, replication stress, genomic stability, or tumor cell proliferation can use this reagent to probe MCM4 abundance and to map nuclear staining patterns across experimental conditions.

As an unconjugated primary antibody, the product allows flexible pairing with the researcher's choice of HRP, biotin, or fluorophore-conjugated secondary reagents for chemiluminescent, colorimetric, or immunofluorescence detection workflows. The polyclonal format recognizes multiple epitopes on MCM4, which can be advantageous for detecting the protein across different sample preparations where a single monoclonal epitope might be masked by fixation or denaturation.
