Anti-MCL1 Antibody

Raised in rabbit against the human MCL1 protein, this polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com is validated for Western Blot detection across human, mouse, and rat samples. MCL1 (Myeloid Cell Leukemia 1) is a member of the BCL-2 family that localizes to the outer mitochondrial membrane and blocks apoptosis by sequestering pro-apoptotic BAX and BAK effectors. Because MCL1 has a notably short intracellular half-life and is rapidly turned over by the proteasome, western blot is the standard read-out for monitoring its steady-state levels in cell lysates.

The reagent is supplied at 1 mg/ml in PBS containing 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol as a stabilizing cryoprotectant, and ships as a 100 µl aliquot of unconjugated immunoglobulin ready for secondary antibody pairing of the user's choice. Aliquot upon arrival and store at -20 °C to minimize freeze-thaw cycles; avoid the sodium azide in downstream loading buffer preparations if the blot will be developed with HRP-based chemiluminescence.
