The target antigen MCFD2 (Multiple Coagulation Factor Deficiency 2) is a calcium-dependent lectin cargo receptor that resides in the endoplasmic reticulum-Golgi intermediate compartment (ERGIC). It forms a trafficking complex with LMAN1 to escort coagulation factors V and VIII through the early secretory pathway, and inherited mutations in MCFD2 cause combined factor V and VIII deficiency (F5F8D), underscoring its biological importance in normal hemostasis.

This Antibodies.com reagent is a rabbit polyclonal antibody that recognizes MCFD2 from human and rat samples. It is validated for Western blot and is supplied unconjugated at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline (PBS) containing 15 mM sodium azide at approximately pH 7.2. The vial contains 100 µl of antibody, supporting multiple blot experiments across typical working dilutions.

Researchers commonly use this reagent to probe MCFD2 expression in cell lines and primary tissue lysates, and the unconjugated format allows downstream labeling with HRP, biotin, or a fluorophore of choice. The included sodium azide acts as a microbial preservative; for long-term use, aliquot the antibody to minimize repeated freeze-thaw cycles and protect from light to preserve binding activity.
