MCAM (Melanoma Cell Adhesion Molecule), also referred to as CD146 or MUC18, is a transmembrane glycoprotein studied for its role in cell-cell adhesion, angiogenesis, and tumor progression. This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal IgG antibody, supplied by Antibodies.com as a 200 µl vial, was raised against human MCAM and is validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry workflows on human samples.

The polyclonal format provides recognition of multiple epitopes across the target, which is useful when probing endothelial cells, pericytes, or melanoma and other MCAM-positive tumor tissues. Researchers investigating tumor angiogenesis, vascular biology, metastasis, or endothelial signaling commonly pair anti-MCAM reagents with labeled secondary antibodies to localize the protein in tissue sections or detect endogenous expression by Western blot.

Because the antibody is unconjugated, it can be matched with a secondary reagent of the user's choice, allowing flexibility in detection chemistry across both immunohistochemistry and immunoblot protocols. A rabbit IgG host isotype is compatible with commonly available anti-rabbit secondaries for chromogenic and fluorescence readouts.
