The Anti-MBP Tag Antibody from Antibodies.com is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 reagent supplied at 100 µg in liquid format. Maltose Binding Protein (MBP) is a ~42 kDa E. coli periplasmic fusion tag widely used to enhance solubility and folding of recombinant proteins expressed from pMAL and similar vectors. This antibody recognizes both N-terminal and C-terminal MBP fusions, enabling straightforward verification of expression by western blot and facilitating pull-down or co-immunoprecipitation workflows where MBP is used as an affinity handle. Because the reagent is unconjugated, it can be paired with anti-mouse HRP, AP, or fluorescent secondary antibodies depending on the detection platform. For long-term storage, keep the vial frozen at -20°C or below; for routine use, refrigerate at 4°C in single-use working aliquots to avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles of the stock. A typical western blot dilution range of 1:1000 to 1:5000 is a reasonable starting point. Intended for research use only.
