This rabbit polyclonal primary antibody targets the beta-2 regulatory subunit (KCNMB2) of the large-conductance, calcium-activated potassium channel commonly referred to as MaxiK or BK. The immunogen corresponds to a region surrounding the I186 residue of the MaxiKβ2 protein, a modulatory auxiliary subunit known to alter BK channel gating kinetics, calcium sensitivity, and surface expression in excitable cells including neurons and smooth muscle.

Validated for western blot and immunohistochemistry workflows, the antibody detects the target in human, mouse, and rat tissue. The reagent is supplied at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline (PBS), pH approximately 7.2, with 0.05% sodium azide added as a preservative. Each vial contains 100 µl of unconjugated antibody, ready for use with standard HRP-, fluorophore-, or biotin-conjugated secondary detection reagents.

Researchers investigating ion channel physiology, neurobiology, vascular smooth muscle regulation, and channelopathies use KCNMB2-specific reagents from Antibodies.com to map subunit expression patterns and study how the beta-2 subunit modulates BK current behavior. The antibody is shipped refrigerated; for longer-term storage, aliquot to minimize freeze-thaw cycles and protect from light. For research use only.
