Anti-MAT1A Antibody

Raised in rabbit as a polyclonal reagent, this unconjugated primary antibody targets methionine adenosyltransferase 1A (MAT1A), the hepatic enzyme that catalyzes synthesis of S-adenosylmethionine from methionine and ATP. Supplied by Antibodies.com at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, the 100 µl aliquot is validated for western blot (WB) and immunohistochemistry (IHC) on human, mouse, and rat samples.

MAT1A is predominantly expressed in hepatocytes, where loss of activity is associated with reduced S-adenosylmethionine pools, hepatic steatosis, and progression toward hepatocellular carcinoma, so the reagent supports research on methyl-group transfer, the methionine cycle, and liver cancer biology. The unconjugated format lets investigators pair it with their preferred secondary labels, including immunofluorescence, HRP, or biotin detection chemistries.
