MASP1 (Mannan-Binding Lectin Serine Protease 1) is a serine protease of the lectin complement pathway, where it circulates in complex with mannan-binding lectin (MBL) and contributes to innate immune activation through cleavage of complement components C4 and C2. This polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is raised in rabbit and supplied as an unconjugated, 100 µl liquid preparation validated for western blot (WB) and immunohistochemistry (IHC) applications on human and mouse samples.

The antibody was generated against human MASP1 and cross-reacts with mouse, supporting comparative studies of complement pathway activity across species. MASP1 migrates near the 80–90 kDa region on SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, and the protein is most abundantly expressed in liver, where it is synthesized and secreted into plasma as part of the MBL-MASP activation complex.

For storage and handling, the vial should be kept refrigerated in single-use aliquots to limit freeze-thaw cycles and preserve binding activity over time. Researchers optimize working dilutions empirically for their specific sample type and detection chemistry; the unconjugated format is compatible with HRP-, fluorophore-, or biotin-conjugated secondary reagents for either chemiluminescent western blot on cell or tissue lysates, or chromogenic IHC detection on formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissue sections.
