MARCKSL1 (MARCKS-like protein 1, also historically called MacMARCKS) is a member of the MARCKS family of protein kinase C substrates. The protein docks at the inner leaflet of the plasma membrane through a polybasic effector region and links to the actin cytoskeleton, and it plays a significant part in membrane-cytoskeletal dynamics, cell motility, phagocytosis, and integrin-mediated adhesion. Phosphorylation by PKC displaces MARCKSL1 from the membrane and is a key switch governing its activity in motile cells, neutrophils, and developing neural tissue.

This Antibodies.com reagent is a rabbit polyclonal antibody raised against MARCKSL1, supplied unconjugated at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline (PBS) containing 15 mM sodium azide at approximately pH 7.2. The vial ships with a 100 µl fill volume and is validated for Western blot (WB) detection of endogenous MARCKSL1 in human, mouse, and rat samples, supporting comparative immunoblotting across these common model species. The polyclonal format recognizes multiple epitopes on the target, useful for tracking the full-length protein on immunoblots.

Recommended handling: refrigerate on arrival and protect from light; avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles to preserve antibody activity. For Western blot, dilute the stock into a suitable dilution buffer and follow standard immunoblotting protocols after SDS-PAGE separation.
