MAPK7, also called ERK5 or BMK1, is the largest member of the mitogen-activated protein kinase family and plays a central role in transducing signals from growth factors, oxidative stress, and cytokines into downstream cellular responses including proliferation, survival, and differentiation. This polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com, raised in rabbit against the human MAPK7 target, enables researchers to detect endogenous ERK5 protein across multiple experimental platforms. The unconjugated format provides flexibility in downstream labelling, allowing the antibody to be paired with HRP, fluorophore, or biotin conjugates suited to specific detection chemistries.

Validated for Western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence, the reagent supports reliable detection in human-derived samples. In Western blot applications, it can be used to confirm expression of full-length ERK5 and to monitor activating phosphorylation events within its activation loop. Immunohistochemistry use permits localisation of MAPK7 in fixed tissue sections, supporting studies of its distribution in vascular, cardiac, and tumor contexts where ERK5 activity is increasingly investigated. The immunofluorescence application is suited to visualising subcellular localisation of MAPK7 in cultured cells, where ERK5 has been reported to shuttle between the cytoplasm and nucleus in a stimulus-dependent manner.

Supplied as 100 µl of unconjugated polyclonal antibody reagent, the product is intended for research use only. Short-term refrigerated storage, with aliquoting recommended to limit repeated freeze-thaw cycles, preserves reactivity across experiments. For laboratories studying MAPK signalling, endothelial biology, or cancer pathways where ERK5 contributes to proliferation and survival, this antibody offers a versatile tool for protein-level investigation into human MAPK7.
