Raised in rabbit against a synthetic phosphopeptide derived from human p38/MAPK14 around the tyrosine 322 phosphorylation site, this affinity-purified polyclonal IgG reagent from Antibodies.com selectively recognises MAPK14 only when Y322 is phosphorylated. The unconjugated antibody is supplied as a 50 µl liquid aliquot at 1 mg/ml in PBS buffer with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol as stabiliser, with an observed molecular weight near 42 kDa for the target band.

Validated for Western blot and immunofluorescence on human and mouse samples, the reagent binds endogenous p38α in cell lysates and tissue sections. Because Y322 phosphorylation reflects the TAB1-mediated non-canonical autophosphorylation route for MAPK14, this phospho-specific tool is suited to studies of cardiomyocyte stress responses, ischemia-reperfusion injury, and T-cell receptor signalling through ZAP70, complementing antibodies that read the canonical T180/Y182 activation-loop sites.

Long-term storage is recommended at -20 °C, with routine bench handling at 4 °C for up to one month; the 50% glycerol formulation reduces freeze-thaw damage during repeated use. The reagent is commonly paired with a total MAPK14 antibody to normalise Y322 phosphorylation across stimulation conditions such as UV exposure, osmotic shock, or cytokine treatment.
