Affinity-purified polyclonal reagent raised in rabbit against a synthetic phosphopeptide surrounding tyrosine 322 of human p38α MAPK (MAPK14, UniProt Q16539). The antibody selectively recognises the kinase only when phosphorylated at Y322 and does not cross-react with the canonical dual-phosphorylated T180/Y182 activation loop, providing a tool for dissecting the alternative ZAP70-driven activation route that operates downstream of T-cell receptor engagement in lymphocytes and is negatively regulated by GADD45A.

Supplied by Antibodies.com as 200 µL of unconjugated IgG in a vial, the reagent has been validated on human and mouse samples for Western blot and immunofluorescence, and is commonly used to follow subcellular redistribution of p38α in Jurkat and primary T-cell models. Because the epitope is a phospho-tyrosine, lysates should be prepared cold with freshly added phosphatase inhibitors (NaF, Na3VO4, β-glycerophosphate) and the antibody aliquoted to avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles; refrigerate the working aliquot and keep the stock frozen for long-term retention of titre.
