This rabbit polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com targets the activated form of MAPK14 phosphorylated at tyrosine 182, a site located within the canonical TGY dual-phosphorylation motif of the p38 alpha activation loop. MAPK14 (p38 MAPK alpha) is a stress-activated serine/threonine kinase, and tyrosine 182 phosphorylation is the second half of the activating modification performed by upstream MKK3 and MKK6 MAP kinase kinases in response to cellular stress, inflammatory signals, and DNA damage.

The unconjugated IgG reagent is validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry workflows and shows reactivity against human, mouse, and rat samples. Each vial contains 50 µl of antibody suitable for probing phosphorylation-dependent signaling in cell lysates or fixed tissue sections. Researchers commonly use this reagent to monitor p38 pathway activation downstream of TNF-alpha, IL-1 beta, osmotic stress, and chemotherapeutic challenge, and to discriminate the active kinase pool from the inactive fraction.

Store at -20 degrees C in working aliquots to preserve phospho-specific binding; avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. The polyclonal format offers broad epitope coverage around the phospho-Y182 residue, increasing the likelihood of detecting the modification across different MAPK14 isoforms.
