Rabbit polyclonal IgG antibody raised against MAPK14 (p38α MAPK) when phosphorylated at tyrosine 182. MAPK14 is a 41 kDa stress-activated serine/threonine kinase that signals downstream of inflammatory cytokines, osmotic shock, and UV irradiation. Dual phosphorylation of the TGY motif at threonine 180 and tyrosine 182 within the activation loop is required for full enzymatic activity, so the Y182 phospho-epitope provides a direct read-out of pathway activation in cell lysates and tissue sections.

This unconjugated reagent from Antibodies.com is supplied as a 200 µL liquid aliquot and is validated for western blot detection of activated p38 MAPK as a 41 kDa band, as well as immunohistochemistry on formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissue. Cross-reactivity with human, mouse, and rat samples makes it suitable for studies in cell line models and rodent tissues alongside clinical research specimens. The polyclonal format helps recognise the phospho-Y182 epitope even when neighbouring residues vary slightly between homologues.

Aliquot and store frozen; protect from repeated freeze-thaw cycles to preserve phospho-specific recognition. Brief refrigerated storage of working aliquots is acceptable for short-term use. For research use only.
