Anti-MAPK14 Antibody

Raised in rabbit against the MAPK14 stress-activated kinase (also called p38α MAP kinase), this polyclonal IgG reagent from Antibodies.com is supplied as a 200 µl liquid aliquot and is unconjugated, allowing it to be paired with any HRP, fluorophore, or biotin secondary of the user's choice. The antibody detects endogenous MAPK14 protein in human, mouse, and rat samples, making it a useful reagent for inflammation models, stress-response signaling, and cancer research workflows that compare kinase activation across species.

The reagent is validated for western blot, immunohistochemistry, immunoprecipitation, and flow cytometry. MAPK14 becomes catalytically active only after dual phosphorylation at Thr180 and Tyr182 within the T–G–Y activation motif, which is induced by inflammatory cytokines (TNFα, IL-1β), osmotic shock, and UV irradiation. Once activated, the kinase phosphorylates substrates such as ATF2 and MAPKAP kinase 2, driving cytokine production and apoptosis programs. Because the polyclonal format recognizes multiple epitopes, the reagent has an improved chance of detecting MAPK14 even when post-translational modifications partially mask individual sites.
